Initially, I tried to debunk astrology, but that wildly backfired on me. 8th & Poppy grew out of this attempted debunking, and it's my favorite and most beautiful unexpected life twist yet.
From skeptic to master astrologer, I'm here to take the "woo" out of astrology to make it a tangible tool for empowerment and navigation. Astrology changed my entire life, and I can't wait for it to change yours too.

Growing up, I knew I "was a Virgo", but that's the extent of what I knew. Because of that, I boxed myself into the stereotypical Virgo traits, and even proudly wore a Virgo t-shirt. As I got older, I began questioning astrology. I became friends with "a Virgo" and questioned how 2 "Virgos" could be so fundamentally different.
Fast forward to deciding to book an astrology reading with the intent to debunk it, only to hang up the call with my jaw on the floor, life forever transformed, and a transaction on my credit card to begin studying astrology. Mind blown, still skeptical, but determined to get to the bottom of how someone knew me better than I knew myself.
8 months later, I graduated as a master astrologer. Turns out there's a whole lot more to us than just our Sun Signs.

Religious trauma is no joke.
After graduating from a private Catholic school in eighth grade, I swore up and down that I would never step foot in a church or religious space again. And, with the exception of a couple religious weddings we photographed (business owner x2 here), I've held true to that.
I had made it a mission to avoid all forms of spirituality as if my life depended on it. So, after an astrologer blew my mind during a reading that I went into with the intent to debunk, I immediately signed up for courses to find something tangible to grasp onto while seeking answers to how she could know me better than I knew myself.
I was relieved to find that astrology is 100% based in science. Astrology charts track the exact degrees of the planets in the Solar System and plots the proximity of them next to where they were when you were born.
No hat tricks, no "woo", no mysticism. Just numbers, realism, and joyful empowerment.
